Project Manager

• Location: Parramatta, NSW/Hybrid (one day per week onsite)
• Contract Duration: Until the end of the financial year, with the opportunity to extend
• Program Funding: Until the end of 2026

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity for an experienced and Project Manager to join a leading NSW State Government organisation on a contract basis until the end of the financial year, with the potential for extension. This role is part of a long-term program funded until the end of 2026, aimed at delivering a whole-of-government platform for grants management. This ambitious program involves the collaboration of over 50 government agencies and has been well received.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage multiple competing workstreams
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met
• Monitor project progress and adjust as needed
• Prepare and present project reports to stakeholders
• Identify and mitigate project risks, anticipating and predicting roadblocks
• Navigate complex procurement processes and manage supplier relationships
• Work collaboratively with a small, tight-knit team, carrying multiple hats
• Provide effective solutions to complex problems

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager, particularly in leading multiple workstream programs
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and procurement processes
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Experience in dealing with complex projects and suppliers
• Background in public sector and private sector projects, with an understanding of public sector probity and spend is essential
• Experience with IT programs, business programs, middleware, and back-end hardware is a plus
• Resilience and the ability to handle complex and challenging projects
