Mobile Tech Lead

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Mobile Tech Lead to drive forward this organisation's core mobile app - we're looking for someone with plenty of experience of delivering apps that focus on providing an excellent customer journey and motivating a team of developers.

Their codebase is primarily written in React Native but above and beyond pure coding ability, it's crucial to find someone with the right engineering mindset. Therefore you might have a background that leans heavier into iOS or Android... if that's the case, please still apply as long as you're comfortable picking up React Native quickly in the role.

The app that you'll be working on is currently live but there is a really exciting product roadmap for 2025 and beyond that will see the app being refined, as well as new functionality including self-registration, third party verification (and more).

You must be a motivational team lead who knows how to get the most out of a small software engineering squad - whilst still leading from the front in terms of designing and developing mobile apps that are clean, efficient and well-documented.

You'll be working in an agile software engineering environment, so naturally it will be expected that you'll be active in Scrum ceremonies to ensure delivery targets are hit.

• Expertise in iOS, Android or React Native
• Ability to integrate mobile apps with backend services and APIs
• Experience with deploying mobile apps and the app store guidelines
• Core software engineering fundamentals (e.g. TDD, SOLID, CI/CD, estimation and backlog refinement)
• A desire to build something brilliant and that users will love

The client are a globally distributed team but this will be a crucial position in a new Portugese team, so a desire for some hybrid work is important too). As long as you're based in Portugal, we'd like to speak with you.
