Role Overview:

We are seeking two Network Engineers with strong troubleshooting expertise in firewall, routing, and switching to support our client in their transition from a legacy network to an SD-Access fabric. The ideal candidates will have significant hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls, particularly in FortiManager (Fortinet GUI), and be proficient in Cisco networking, including firmware upgrades on Cisco switches.

This role requires 50% onsite presence in Nottingham, with the remainder worked remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to firewalls, routing, and switching.
• Work extensively with Fortinet firewalls (FortiManager) to manage, configure, and optimize security policies.
• Handle BGP configuration and troubleshooting, ensuring network stability and resilience.
• Support the migration from a legacy network to SD-Access fabric.
• Upgrade and maintain Cisco switches, including firmware updates and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with internal IT teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation of network changes.
• Provide technical expertise and documentation for ongoing network projects.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Strong troubleshooting skills in firewall, routing, and switching.
• Expertise in Fortinet firewalls, particularly FortiManager GUI.
• Deep understanding of BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) and its troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco switches, including firmware upgrades.
• Experience with SD-Access fabric migration.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with other Cisco networking technologies (eg, SD-WAN, Nexus switches).
• Familiarity with network automation and Scripting tools.
• Experience in enterprise network environments.

Contract Details:

Location: Nottingham (50% onsite, 50% remote)

Duration: 3-month initial contract (possible extension for another 3 months)
