Exabel
Norway · Full-time · Mid-Senior

Are you fascinated by financial markets? Do you find stocks and investments exciting? So do we! At Exabel, we believe investment professionals deserve the best possible tools to make informed decisions. Join us in building a cutting-edge platform that empowers investors with the power of alternative data."

About the Company

Exabel was founded in Oslo in 2016 based on the belief that the financial system will best serve society with fair, open, and efficient markets.

Exabel provides an analytics platform that helps investment professionals use alternative data and modern data science in their decision-making. It fulfills a growing need in financial markets: while the use of data – including fundamental, market, proprietary, and alternative data – is critical for investment managers, modeling such data in-house has become an excessive use of time and resources for all but the very largest investment firms. Exabel's SaaS-delivered platform enables discretionary managers to complement their fundamental strategies with more data-driven techniques. It is the missing piece that allows investment teams to benefit from alternative data immediately. Ensuring that all market participants have the necessary tools to make informed investment decisions will ultimately lead to fairer and more efficient financial markets, benefiting society as a whole.

The Role

Backend Engineer

We are expanding the platform team within engineering at Exabel. This team is responsible for managing our cloud infrastructure in Google Cloud Projects and developing APIs and microservices used by internal services, front-end applications, partners, and customers.

Most of our services run within an Istio service mesh, managed by Google Kubernetes Engine, with APIs developed using gRPC. Scalability and high quality are fundamental to the Exabel platform, supported by efficient CI/CD processes for rapid iteration.

We take pride in our well-structured, high-quality codebase, ensuring a seamless development experience. Significant time is dedicated to refactoring, eliminating legacy components, and removing dead code, keeping the system clean, maintainable, and efficient.

The Engineering team is a DevOps team using agile methodologies. Be prepared for your part in support duty as well, since we all share that responsibility.
