Cybersecurity Intern (6 Months)

Role Summary

As a Cybersecurity Intern, you will support the Security team in monitoring security alerts, assisting with security assessments, and participating in security awareness initiatives. This 6 months internship offers a great opportunity to gain practical experience in cybersecurity while working with cutting-edge security tools and frameworks.

Role and Responsibilities

Security Monitoring & Incident Handling

• Assist in monitoring security alerts and incidents using SIEM/SOAR tools (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel).
• Support the investigation of security incidents under the guidance of senior team members.
• Participate in security log analysis and reporting.

Security Assessments & Compliance

• Support vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities.
• Assist in reviewing and maintaining security policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
• Participate in internal security audits and compliance checks based on industry standards (ISO 27001, NIST, IMO).

Security Awareness & Research

• Assist in developing cybersecurity awareness materials and training programs.
• Conduct research on emerging cybersecurity threats and best practices.
• Help organize phishing simulation campaigns to educate employees on cyber risks.

Projects & Innovation

• Support cybersecurity-related projects, including security automation and cloud security enhancements.
• Work closely with IT and DevSecOps teams to improve security processes.
• Assist in maintaining security documentation and reports.

Requirements

Education & Knowledge

• Currently pursuing a Degree or Diploma in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of IT Security, Cloud Security, and Security Frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls.
• Familiarity with SIEM, SOAR, and security monitoring tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Security and cloud security best practices is advantageous.
• Strong interest in cybersecurity trends, vulnerability management, and ethical hacking.

Preferred Skills

• Basic knowledge of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and security tools.
• Exposure to scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
