Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or a STEM field with a major in Mathematics.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role with solid hands-on experience with the tech stack listed in the responsibilities section.
- Additionally, if you are certified in any of the technologies mentioned, we would appreciate seeing you demonstrate your detail-oriented problem-solving skills and in-depth knowledge of the products.
Certifications:
Candidates with the following certifications are highly preferred:
- AWS Solutions Architect – Associate / Professional
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) / Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
- RHCSA / RHCE (7/8)
Job Description:
- Installation, configuration, and administration of Linux servers (Ubuntu & Amazon Linux).
- Strong knowledge of OS baselining for vulnerability assessment and patching using industry best practices and tools.
- Intermediate to expert skills in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Ruby, or Go.
- Familiarity with web and proxy servers like Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, and HAProxy.
- In-depth knowledge of DNS, DHCP, networking, and certificate authority (CA) systems.
- Administration of AWS and Azure cloud service providers, including EC2, RDS, S3, ECS, SNS, SES, CloudWatch, CDN, WAF, CloudFront, CloudTrail, Route 53, VPC, Routing, API Gateway, Lambda, IAM Roles, Security Groups, Elasticache, Memcached, DynamoDB, CodeDeploy, CodeBuild, and serverless technologies.
- Strong knowledge of VPC, VPC Peering, Load Balancers (ALB, ELB, NLB), and Transit Gateways.
- Act as an SME for the architecture and design of networking and application architectures spread across multiple clouds and regions for high availability (HA) and fault tolerance.
- Hands-on experience migrating workloads from on-premises to the cloud.
- Perform cost analysis to optimize applications and reduce unnecessary cloud overprovisioning.
- Experience with container schedulers and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, OpenShift, or AWS EKS/ECS.
- Solid knowledge of ArgoCD or HelmCharts is a plus.
- Work closely with developers for containerizing MEAN stack applications.
- Solid understanding of microservice architecture and design patterns.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Chef, Ansible, Puppet, or SaltStack.
- Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automated provisioning using Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and manage code repositories from scratch, using tools like GitLab or GitHub.
- Good understanding of GitLab Runners and GitHub Actions workflows is a significant advantage.
- Solid knowledge of branching strategies and commit hooks.
- Hands-on experience with administering and configuring build systems like Jenkins or Spinnaker.
- Code coverage, automated functional, and stress testing using build systems to support Test-Driven Development (TDD) for development teams.
- Strong experience in building and modifying iOS or Android mobile application builds.
- Setup of development environments for MEAN stack or Kotlin, Xcode, Swift, and Fastlane.
- Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL database platforms, including MySQL and Cassandra.
- Strong experience with caching technologies like Redis, Memcache, and Elasticsearch.
- Experience with implementing and managing monitoring and observability platforms such as Elastic Stack, Grafana, Prometheus, Graphite, and APM tools like New Relic, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace.
- Must be familiar with Jira and Confluence or similar tools.
- Good knowledge of impact assessment, release strategies, deployment methodologies, incident management, and change management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with multiple teams and stakeholders.
