About The Role

You’ll join a fresh team in the Greater Vancouver Area focusing on building an AI video tool for professional creators who want to dominate their category. You’ll prototype and build the next generation of AI enterprise solutions that could fuel massive growth.
This team will explore various new ideas with cutting-edge AI technologies from the market and our AI labs, such as video editing AI agents and multi-modal video evaluators.
You will be working closely with the product, marketing, and data teams to brainstorm, plan, and deploy features that enhance user growth and product value using your analytic skills.
Design and implement robust A/B tests to understand the impact of changes, using data-driven insights to inform decisions and strategy adjustments.

Key Responsibilities

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field. A total of 3-8 years of experience in software engineering.
Fast learner and self-starter as a backend engineer. A broad range of tech skills are preferred, including

Expertise in Node.js, Python, or Golang, with a strong understanding of system architecture.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong database skills (SQL, NoSQL) and experience in query optimization.
Understanding of scalable distributed systems, caching strategies, and message queues.

Strong product and business sense and can build product based on customers' needs. You love building a product from the ground up.
Good understanding of software engineering principles and best practices. Good judgment on when to hack and when to craft.
Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset.
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions that drive growth.
Ability to collaborate with teams across Asia time zones, including 1-2 evening meetings per week.

Preferred Experience

Experience with high-traffic systems or data-intensive applications
Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure, data pipelines, or event-driven architectures.
Experience with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Statsig, etc.).
Passion for building products—bonus points if you’ve developed and launched side projects independently.

Compensation

CA$160-200K Base Salary + Performance-based Bonus + Stock Option
