Role

Vivodyne is looking for an outstanding Full-Stack Software Engineer to develop a sophisticated front-end web application using React, integrated with multiple back-end databases, including Postgres, MongoDB, and AWS DynamoDB. This role will be instrumental in shaping the company’s biotech platform, facilitating high-throughput lab automation, complex data modeling, and advanced imaging capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both front-end and back-end development, a passion for data modeling in the biotech space, and the ability to deliver aesthetically refined, powerful interfaces that enhance scientific discovery. Working at the intersection of biotech and software engineering, this role will collaborate with teams spanning tissue engineering, robotics, and AI.

Responsibilities

Full-Stack Development – Build and maintain scalable applications utilizing React for front-end and Postgres, MongoDB, and AWS DynamoDB for back-end development.

User Experience – Design clean, intuitive, and responsive interfaces that translate complex scientific requirements into seamless user interactions.

Biotech Data Modeling – Collaborate with scientists to develop models capable of handling large, high-dimensional datasets across areas such as tissue engineering, dosing protocols, imagery, and robotics.

Lab Automation and Robotics – Develop interfaces and data pipelines to enable high-throughput lab automation, workflow orchestration, precise data capture, and real-time monitoring.

Imagery and Annotation – Implement visualization tools to render 2D/3D biomedical images, including annotation features for tracking cellular and tissue-level changes.

Code Quality and Best Practices – Write well-structured, maintainable, and scalable code while optimizing for performance and cost-efficiency.

Collaboration and Communication – Work closely with cross-functional teams, including scientists, engineers, and AI researchers, to gather requirements and deliver impactful solutions.

Continuous Improvement – Enhance development workflows, toolchains, and cloud infrastructure (AWS) to improve efficiency and performance.

Requirements and Expectations

Technical Excellence

Strong expertise in data modeling for biotech applications, translating scientific requirements into structured schemas.

Proven experience developing high-performance, visually refined React applications.

Proficiency in API design, schema definition, and query optimization with Postgres, MongoDB, and AWS DynamoDB.

Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software architecture (CS degree preferred).

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science (or a related field) or equivalent experience.

Proven ability to build polished, functional web applications using React (or similar frameworks).

Hands-on experience working with Postgres, MongoDB, and AWS DynamoDB in production environments.

Strong knowledge of data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization.

Experience in high-throughput laboratory automation or robotics is a plus.

Experience developing applications that render and annotate imagery is highly valued.

Excellent communication skills for effectively conveying technical concepts and aligning stakeholder expectations.

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while balancing shifting priorities.
