One our leading Public Sector clients in Plymouth seeking a Junior Network Engineer / DevOps Engineer. Our client specialises in cutting-edge solutions for the high traffic public sector online presence, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability of network infrastructure and cloud-based systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain network and cloud infrastructure to ensure performance, reliability, and security.
- Automate deployment and infrastructure processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Manage and monitor cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and on-premises network solutions.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines to enhance the efficiency of software delivery.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with best practices and security standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve networking and system performance issues proactively.
- Provide technical support and documentation for internal teams.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Ideally 6 months experience in network engineering, including routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Interest in DevOps practices, automation, and cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for automation.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Kowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation).
- Understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Administrator.
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments and cloud networking solutions.
- Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture and security best practices.
