Role description

Data Analyst is responsible for detecting and preventing automated abuse of client's website including:

• Scraping of content (jobs, resumes) that exposes Client data to malicious actors
• Automated actions (applying to jobs, posting/reporting of company reviews) that distort our employment marketplace with high-volume actions
• Extracting free value (i.e. unlimited resume views within free trial) from Indeed that risks jobseeker data getting into the wrong hands.

The team is focused on rapid experimentation and marketplace changes using a number of anti-bot tactics, and measuring success and opportunity sizes for various efforts is critical. We are presently lacking the staffing to scale this process up, leading to bottlenecks that delay our ability to react to new threats or properly measure the impact of our mitigation efforts.

Typical duties will include:

• Developing new business metrics to help quantify the scale of bot usage on various Indeed products
• Measuring the impact of anti-bot strategies
• Creating dashboards and reporting that capture the team’s progress
• Presenting results and learnings to leadership audiences

Required Skills:

• 5+ years experience using SQL and Python to analyze data for business problems
• Familiarity working with large data sets (> 1 billion records) using tools like Spark, Presto, Athena
• Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to tell a story with data
