DevOps Engineer

We are a fun, high-growth creative Language Services company that specializes in delivering best-in-class solutions for our clients. The incumbent will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining a high-performance and scalable web infrastructure, ensuring smooth and secure operations through DevOps practices. Additionally, the professional will collaborate with the PHP development team to optimize the performance and architecture of web applications.

Major Activities:

• Design and implement DevOps strategies to streamline the development, testing, and deployment processes, ensuring high availability and scalability of our web applications.
• Manage and maintain Linux-based servers, particularly Ubuntu, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Set up and configure web servers like Apache and Nginx, including SSL certificates for secure communication.
• Implement and maintain server security measures, such as firewalls and access controls, to safeguard sensitive data and protect against potential threats.
• Utilize Docker to containerize applications, enabling consistent deployment across different environments.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment and testing of applications and infrastructure changes.
• Monitor server and application performance using appropriate tools, identifying, and resolving performance bottlenecks as needed.
• Implement and manage backups to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Set up and configure failover mechanisms to ensure high availability and minimal downtime in case of server failures.
• Collaborate with PHP developers to provide expertise on infrastructure-related issues and optimize code performance.
• Develop and maintain PHP applications using Laravel, WordPress, and other frameworks.

Essential requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a minimum of two years of experience, and a strong background in Linux administration, particularly Ubuntu, and proficiency in setting up Apache and Nginx web servers.
• Experience with Docker and containerization for application deployment.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and their implementation.
• Familiarity with server security measures, SSL, and firewall configurations.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience in PHP development, including frameworks like Laravel and WordPress.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Very good level of English.
• Must have excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

Desirable:

• Knowledge and hands-on experience in PHP development, including frameworks like Laravel and WordPress.
• Extensive understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML/CSS and JavaScript.
