Content Experiences is a growing multi-disciplinary group of 100+ engineers, data scientists, business developers, product designers, and product managers in Helsinki and Berlin, all working to revolutionise how Zalando connects with its customers. We’re building the future of personalised fashion experiences, going beyond transactions to inspire each individual customer with meaningful fashion moments.

As a Backend Engineer Intern in our Customer Experience team, you’ll gain hands-on experience in building our content management system platform that supports operations for both internal users and our partners. The platform empowers users to engage Zalando customers more effectively by delivering relevant, fresh content at a rapid pace, providing a dynamic environment with lots of learning opportunities. This internship offers a unique opportunity to collaborate and develop in a multidisciplinary team of engineers and shape the next chapter in Zalando customer experience. WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• Work with our Content Management Systems (CMS), understanding and optimizing how they integrate with our backend to deliver content seamlessly.
• Build and improve APIs to ensure smooth content delivery and interaction across systems.
• Collaborate with frontend, design, and product teams to deliver the best user experience.
• Learn new technologies, propose improvements, and experiment with tools to optimize content management.
• Troubleshoot content-related issues and document solutions for easy future reference.
  
  
  

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• As a junior, we don't expect you to have extensive industry experience, but we do expect you to embrace the opportunity to actively learn new technologies and practices.
• You will primarily work with a Java and Kotlin-based stack, deploying services in Kubernetes on AWS, focusing on microservices that communicate via RESTful APIs.. Don’t worry—you’ll have the chance to learn these technologies and much more on the job.
• We work in a large and complex environment, and we expect you to communicate openly and effectively in English with your colleagues both within your team and across teams

• Paid internship starting in May 2025 with a duration of 6 months and a potential opportunity for a permanent full-time contract afterwards.
