Senior Backend Engineer - Blockchain

Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Senior Backend Engineer - Blockchain - this is a fully remote role, but there is a preference for London, Zurich, Israel, New York. Will consider outside of these locations if in Europe.

We are the first perpetuals DEX engineered specifically for Real World Assets (RWAs). We build on the massive growth in on-chain perpetuals, bringing a first-of-kind twist through a focus on RWAs. Our platform enables trading of an entirely new set of assets previously unavailable on-chain — from gold & copper to wheat, oil, & forex pairs. Through trade execution at prices fed via Chainlink's Functions product, we're pioneering new frontiers in DeFi. Our team includes Harvard grads with experience at Bridgewater, IOI, IMO, and IPhO medalists, and lead engineers from prominent firms like Maple Finance and 21Shares.

Role We're seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team and help scale our platform. This role requires someone who can work across our entire tech stack, from frontend development to backend architecture, while maintaining a deep understanding of blockchain technology and DeFi systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend services using Node.js and PostgreSQL
• Develop and maintain our frontend applications using React and TypeScript
• Architect and integrate web3 functionalities throughout our tech stack
• Design and implement caching solutions using Redis to optimize application performance
• Build and maintain API integrations between frontend and backend systems
• Ensure high performance, reliability, and security across all system components
• Collaborate with the team on technical architecture decisions and implementation strategies
• Work closely with product and design teams to implement new features
• Contribute to technical documentation and engineering best practices
  
  
  

Requirements

3+ years Typescript development with strong backend

Backend leaning role - very strong Nodejs and related technologies

Based in London, Zurich, Israel, New York or anywhere in Europe.

Willing to travel to London once a quarter

Impressive background at companies building hard things - trading or defi strongly preferred
