Job Title: Data Analyst with Migration Experience

About the Role:

Our client, a leading utilities company based in Dublin, is looking for a skilled Data Analyst with experience in data migration to join their team on an initial 3-month contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset and a solid understanding of data migration processes, ensuring that data is accurately and efficiently transferred between systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the data migration process, ensuring accurate extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from legacy systems to new platforms.
• Work closely with business and IT teams to define data requirements and assist in data mapping.
• Perform data validation and quality checks throughout the migration process to ensure integrity and accuracy.
• Analyze and document data inconsistencies or issues, working with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare reports and dashboards to track migration progress and highlight any risks or blockers.
• Support testing efforts by validating data post-migration to confirm all systems are aligned and accurate.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve processes and system performance.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Proven experience as a Data Analyst, with a focus on data migration projects.
• Strong understanding of data migration tools and ETL processes.
• Experience working with large datasets and transforming data across various platforms.
• Knowledge of data modeling, data mapping, and data validation.
• Familiarity with utilities industry data or similar sectors is a plus.
• Proficient in SQL for querying and manipulating data.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Desirable:

• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
