About the Role
A leading venture capital firm is looking for an Investment Manager to join its growing team in Zurich. The role will focus on sourcing, evaluating, and managing early to growth-stage investments in SaaS, Biotech, and Cybersecurity across Europe and beyond. The successful candidate will play a critical role in investment due diligence, financial analysis, portfolio management, and supporting portfolio companies in their growth journey. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to work in a dynamic, fast-paced investment environment with high exposure to disruptive technologies and cutting-edge innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Sourcing & Due Diligence
- Identify and evaluate high-potential investment opportunities in SaaS, Biotech, and Cybersecurity.
- Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to assess investment viability.
- Lead financial modeling, valuation analysis, and investment due diligence.
- Prepare investment memos and present findings to the investment committee.
Portfolio Management & Value Creation
- Support portfolio companies with strategic initiatives, fundraising, and operational scaling.
- Monitor financial and operational performance, identifying key growth drivers and risks.
- Work closely with founders and management teams to refine business models, go-to-market strategies, and exit planning.
- Leverage the firm’s network to facilitate partnerships, talent acquisition, and business development opportunities for portfolio companies.
Fundraising & Investor Relations
- Assist in fundraising efforts for the venture fund, including preparing pitch materials and managing investor relationships.
- Engage with existing and potential LPs, providing updates on fund performance and investment strategy.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, networking events, and panel discussions.
Cross-functional Coordination & Ecosystem Development
- Collaborate with internal teams across finance, legal, and operations to ensure seamless execution of investments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with entrepreneurs, co-investors, accelerators, and industry experts.
- Stay ahead of emerging trends in SaaS, Biotech, and Cybersecurity to inform investment strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in venture capital, growth equity, private equity, investment banking (TMT or Healthcare), or strategy consulting with a focus on technology and life sciences.
- Deep understanding of the SaaS, Biotech, or Cybersecurity sectors, including key business models, competitive landscapes, and regulatory considerations.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and investment structuring skills.
- Prior experience working with or investing in early-stage and growth-stage companies is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with entrepreneurs, investors, and senior stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for disruptive technologies and innovation.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in German or another European language is a plus.
