Network Security Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer with expertise in Microsoft 365 security and network security technologies to join our IT security team. This role is responsible for ensuring the security, integrity, and availability of the organization's network infrastructure, cloud services, and digital assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft 365 Security, along with experience in Next Generation Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls, VPN, Network Access Control, and related security technologies

Key Accountabilities

• Design, implement, and maintain network security solutions, including Next Generation Firewalls, VPNs, WAFs, and NAC systems to safeguard the organization's infrastructure
• Configure and manage Microsoft 365 security solutions, including Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, and Microsoft Sentinel
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, conduct threat analysis, and implement proactive security measures to mitigate risks
• Maintain and enforce network security policies, configurations, and access controls
• Perform vulnerability assessments to identify and remediate security weaknesses
• Manage Secure Web Gateway (SWG), DNS security, email security solutions, and endpoint protection
• Ensure compliance with industry security standards (NIST, ISO 27001, etc.) and regulatory requirements
• Conduct security awareness training for employees to promote best practices in cybersecurity
• Provide incident response and forensic analysis during security breaches or cyberattacks
• Stay updated with emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends to recommend improvements

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in network and cybersecurity roles
• Expertise in Microsoft 365 security solutions, including Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Conditional Access, and Purview
• Hands-on experience with Next Generation Firewalls, WAF, VPN, NAC, and IDS/IPS solutions
• Strong knowledge of Zero Trust architecture, Identity and Access Management, Single Sign-On, and Multi-factor Authentication
• Proficiency in network protocols, TCP/IP, DNS security, and threat detection techniques
• Experience with SIEM, SOAR, and security automation
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert, and Microsoft 365 Security Administration are a plus
