Front End Developer – Remote – 5 Month Contract - £530 Per Day (Inside IR35)

Summary:

We are looking for a talented Front End Developer to join a dynamic team building a cutting-edge public-facing demonstration for visual representation learning research. This demo will showcase advancements in visual foundation models, targeting a broad audience from researchers to tech enthusiasts.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with design and UX teams to implement the desired user experience, optimizing for various constraints such as network limitations.
• Work closely with the research team to present groundbreaking advancements in visual representation learning.
• Rebuild and refine an early prototype into a polished, user-friendly demonstration.
• Develop and maintain both frontend and backend components of the demonstration, ensuring smooth performance in network-constrained environments.
• Deploy backend systems on internal servers, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Ensure the final demo is visually engaging, intuitive, and performant, using modern web technologies.

Role & Requirements:

• Proven experience in developing web-based applications, with a focus on frontend technologies.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; experience with advanced visual web technologies (Canvas, WebGL, Three.js, Babylon.js).
• Strong backend development experience with Python and deployment of applications in production environments.
• Experience deploying machine learning models, ideally with frameworks for running models in-browser (e.g., ONNX Runtime, HuggingFace Transformers.js).
• Ability to work within an agile environment, adapting to evolving technical and user experience requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly for optimizing performance in network-constrained environments.
• Ensuring smooth, responsive performance across devices and varying network conditions (e.g., crowded conference halls).

Contract Details:

• Rate: £530 per day
• Duration: 5 months
• Contract: Inside IR35 (PAYE)
