Datacom Network Engineer

Datacom Network Engineer - Dublin based - Mandarin speaker

We are currently working with a globally leading technology company looking for an experienced Datacom network engineer to join their Dublin-based team.

The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge in data communication technologies, routing protocols (such as BGP and OSPF), and cybersecurity, with practical experience working with top-tier products from leading vendors. This role also requires developing tools to enhance network efficiency, manage incidents, and work closely with partners and customers to maintain smooth network operations. Certifications like HCIE, CCIE, or equivalent are strongly preferred.

If you were successful your responsibilities would include:

• Maintenance of cloud data centre networks (DCN), including managing alarms, handling incidents, troubleshooting, and restoring services.
• Set up and expanded new DCN infrastructure, including acceptance testing.
• Development of efficient tools to support network maintenance and service delivery.
• Regular meetings with partners and customers.
• Additional responsibilities include updating network information, planning deliveries, monitoring workload statistics, and optimizing workflows.

Your background to date will look like this:

• Preferred candidates should hold certifications such as HCIE, HCIP, HCIA, CCIE, CCNP, or CCNA.
• Strong understanding of data communication technologies, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and cybersecurity (e.g., firewalls). In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP theory and familiarity with Linux and related commands.
• Skilled in troubleshooting with hands-on experience in networking techniques.
• Experience in delivering or supporting data communication products from major vendors (e.g., Cisco or others).
• Familiarity with Python programming is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
