Site Reliability Engineer

Site Reliability Engineer – Dublin or Galway

We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team. As an SRE, you will ensure high availability, performance, and security for our systems by applying DevSecOps methodologies. You’ll manage large-scale, fault-tolerant, distributed systems while improving reliability and reducing downtime.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze platform metrics to enhance performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve service quality through testing and streamlined release processes.
• Automate system management and ensure efficient project completion.
• Balance feature development and system reliability with well-defined service level objectives (SLOs).
• Ensure systems meet security, compliance, and availability standards.
• Plan and execute system upgrades, and participate in on-call rotation.

Experience:

• Programming: Skilled in Python, Go, or JavaScript, with experience in CI/CD pipelines.
• Kubernetes: Strong experience in container orchestration, deployment, and management, particularly in production environments. Experience with Amazon EKS is a plus.
• Configuration Management: Proficient with tools like Ansible, Helm, and Kustomize.
• Monitoring: Expertise in Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools for system health monitoring.
• AWS: Deep knowledge of core AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC) for scalable infrastructure management.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
• Queuing Systems: Knowledge of RabbitMQ, Kafka, and managed services like AmazonMQ.
• Database Management: Strong experience managing MySQL databases and Amazon RDS.
• Networking & Security: Solid understanding of network design, security protocols, and compliance.
• Proven track record in high-uptime environments and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
