We are seeking exceptional Senior Data Engineers to spearhead our digital transformation initiative. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our data infrastructure, ensuring alignment with our strategic business objectives, and driving innovation across the organization.
The role is hybrid if you are located in Cairo or fully remote for international contractors.
About the contract:
- The role is a long-term (one-year renewable) contract position
- The payments are paid out in gross amount in USD on a monthly schedule
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines to support real-time and batch processing needs
- Implement data integration strategies across various systems to ensure data accuracy and availability
- Collaborate with architects and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Support the adoption and optimization of cloud-native data technologies (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Implement and optimize stream processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Kafka, Flink) for real-time data processing
- Ensure data quality, security, and governance across the data landscape
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to deploy machine learning models in production environments
- Continuously improve the DevOps and DataOps tooling to enhance the efficiency and scalability of data solutions
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical discussions within the team
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong focus on cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies
- Proven experience with distributed data processing systems like Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Flink
- Hands-on experience with real-time data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Pulsar)
- Expertise in cloud data solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern data lake technologies (Delta Lake, Apache Hudi)
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java
- Strong understanding of data modeling for structured and unstructured data
- Familiarity with DevOps and DataOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in English and/or Arabic
