Description:

The client is a world-leading provider of telecommunication solutions to mobile & fixed network operators. GlobalLogic has a long and very successful partnership with this Company started back in 2002. As an extension, a team was built that is responsible for a specific area – maintenance of products that are utilized by key US telecom operators.

Requirements:

At least 1 years of hands-on experience with the following technologies:

• C
• Ability to write and optimize SQL queries
• Unix/Linux scripting
• Problem-solving and debugging in a non-GUI Mainframe environment
  
  
  

An advantage to candidates with hands-on:

• IBM z/OS
• IBM Db2 or any SQL database, e.g. Oracle
• IBM IMS
• PL/I
• JCL
• Assembler
• Telecom background.
  
  
  

Good level of verbal and written communication in English;

Ability to work effectively in a team and with international clients.

MUST have skills:

• C
• UNIX/Linux proven experience level

Job Responsibilities:

• Knowledge acquisition: learn assigned product to smallest details, become an expert in the product;
• Work as part of the team in a mainframe environment;
• Cooperate with 1st tier support on resolving issues;
• Product installation and transition execution and documentation.
• Design, modify, and implement software changes from functional and system design specifications;
• Review, evaluate, and analyze software design and specifications;
• Work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if the application fits specifications and technical requirements;
• Identify and fix bugs, devise solutions to the problems;
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automatization;
• Maintain the developed software efficiently through a solid knowledge of the software lifecycle.
