Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

We are hiring a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for our AI-based oil & gas trading and hedging startup.

Role Overview

We are seeking an innovative and strategic Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology initiatives at an AI-focused startup revolutionizing oil and gas trading and hedging. The CTO will drive the development, deployment, and scaling of advanced AI technologies while aligning with business goals to achieve operational and market success. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep expertise in AI, data analytics, and financial technology, paired with an understanding of the energy trading domain.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy and Vision

• Define and execute the company's technology roadmap in alignment with business objectives.
• Oversee the design and implementation of scalable AI-based systems for predictive analytics, risk management, and automated trading.
• Identify and integrate emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge in the energy trading market.

Product Development and Management

• Lead the end-to-end development of AI solutions, including model training, optimization, and deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop proprietary trading algorithms and hedging strategies.
• Ensure the platform's performance, reliability, and security through robust infrastructure and best practices.

Leadership and Team Building

• Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of engineers, data scientists, and technologists.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the technology team.
• Act as a technical mentor and ensure the team adheres to high engineering standards.

Operational Excellence

• Establish and monitor KPIs for technology initiatives and product performance.
• Develop scalable cloud-based infrastructure to support real-time trading and analytics.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and cybersecurity standards.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a focus on AI/ML, financial technology, or energy trading.
• Proven track record in developing and scaling AI-based platforms and predictive analytics solutions.

Technical Skills

• Expertise in AI/ML, deep learning, and big data analytics tools and platforms (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Apache Spark).
• Strong knowledge of algorithmic trading, quantitative analysis, and risk modeling.
• Proficient in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices.
• Solid understanding of oil and gas markets, trading platforms, and hedging strategies is highly desirable.
