About the role

Join Kyoto as a data-driven and strategic Business Analyst, where you will play a key role in analysing and evaluating business opportunities in the energy market. You will develop business cases, conduct market analysis, and support commercial decisions with data-driven insights. Your ability to work with complex calculations, financial models, and programming in Excel will be essential in optimising our business strategies.


This position is based at our Head Office in Lysaker, Oslo, and has limited travel requirements, though participation in customer meetings is expected.


Responsibilities

  • Analyse energy market trends, pricing models, and business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain business case models to support commercial decision-making.
  • Perform financial modelling and scenario analysis for project evaluations.
  • Support bid processes by providing structured data analysis and insights.
  • Work closely with internal teams to align technical, financial, and commercial strategies.
  • Assist in contract negotiations with data-driven insights and risk assessments.
  • Develop and optimise Excel-based tools, including VBA programming, to enhance efficiency in calculations and reporting.


Required skills & experience

  • Experience in the energy sector, preferably in power markets, renewable energy, or heat-intensive industries.
  • Strong understanding of business case modelling, financial analysis, and market evaluation.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced functions and VBA programming.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with technical, financial, and commercial teams.
  • University/college degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, financial modelling, or market analysis.
  • Strong communication skills with a high proficiency in oral and written English.
