Job Summary
The IT Senior Specialist – Regulatory Systems & Risk & Compliance will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of regulatory compliance systems within the bank. This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to ensure that the bank's applications meet regulatory requirements and effectively manage risk. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in regulatory technologies, risk management, and compliance frameworks within the banking sector.
Responsibilities
• System Development and Maintenance:
- Design, develop, and maintain regulatory systems, risk management platforms, and compliance applications to ensure they meet the bank’s needs and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and integrate compliance solutions, ensuring seamless data flow between systems and adherence to industry standards.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to enhance functionality and user experience.
• Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Collaborate with the IT Manager to define technical strategies and roadmaps for regulatory systems and compliance applications.
- Conduct code reviews, ensure adherence to best practices, and maintain high-quality standards in software development.
• Project Delivery:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of IT projects related to regulatory systems, risk management, and compliance, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, risk management teams, and compliance officers to define technical requirements and deliverables.
- Manage technical risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when necessary.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in regulatory systems, risk management, and compliance, recommending innovative solutions to enhance the bank’s capabilities.
- Drive the adoption of modern development practices, such as agile methodologies, DevOps, and cloud-based solutions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Compliance and Security:
- Ensure all regulatory systems and compliance applications comply with relevant regulations, including GDPR, PCI-DSS, and local banking laws.
- Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
• Vendor and Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to integrate and support regulatory and compliance solutions, ensuring high-quality delivery and adherence to SLAs.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including risk management, compliance teams, and business units, to ensure alignment on technical priorities and deliverables.
Qualifications
• Education
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CRISC, CISA, CAMS) is a plus.
• Experience
- 5+ years of experience in regulatory systems, risk management, and compliance within the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of banking regulations, compliance frameworks, and risk management practices.
- Proficiency in database management systems, data analysis, and reporting tools. Experience with regulatory reporting tools is a plus.
• Skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels and convey complex regulatory requirements clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management principles is beneficial.
