SR. DATA ARCHITECT

Primary Purpose Of The Job

Design data architecture and lead platform implementation, considering scalability, security, and integration with existing systems. Leading the implementation, and overall optimization of data flows related activities. Capturing QatarEnergy Enterprise data model with conceptual logical and physical models.

Accountability

Define and implement the data & digital platform architecture and services.
Create, and update QatarEnergy enterprise data models and data architecture (across entities)
Design data pipelines and assure its optimization.
Contributor to all Architecture review committees that could impact IT technical strategy (including applications, Digital Data Platform and Digital Use cases).
Build necessary relationships with Business Focal Points, Data Owners, Data Stewards, application Subject Matter Experts, Digital Project Group and key IT vendors.
Evaluate and recommend innovative solutions to enhance and mature QatarEnergy’s data architecture and analytics.

Required Experience And Skills

10 years’ experience within Oil and Gas, understanding of Upstream and Downstream Data requirements
5 Years of proven experience designing and implementation data models for enterprise data warehouse initiatives within Oil and Gas
8 years of experience in Project Management
Strong ability in programming languages such as Java, Python, and C/C++
Ability in data science languages/tools such as SQL, R, SAS, or Excel
Proficiency in the design and implementation of modern data architectures and concepts such as cloud services (Azure, GCP), real-time data distribution (Kafka, Dataflow), and modern data warehouse tools (Snowflake, Databricks)
Strong Knowledge of Database systems, BI Technologies, Applications Architecture, Information Security Principles
Understanding of entity-relationship modeling, metadata systems, and data quality tools and techniques
Strategic partnership development with top data service providers.
Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and work with diverse project teams.

Educational Qualifications

A degree in Information Management, Engineering, or a technology related field, demonstrating strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Advanced degrees (Master's or PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Oil & Gas, Energy Management, or Petroleum Engineering is highly desirable
