Hays Technology are seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer for a long-term labour hire contract with the ONI.

Your New Role:
We are seeking a junior-level Cloud/DevOps Engineer (SFIA Level 2-3) to support the operations of our newly established Data Branch. This role focusses on day-to-day cloud infrastructure management rather than strategic leadership and is essential for ensuring the continued reliability and security of our cloud services while supporting the broader goals of the Data Branch. Responsibilities include maintaining, monitoring, and securing our cloud infrastructure, resolving technical issues, implementing disaster recovery plans, deploying scalable solutions, and collaborating on cloud architecture and migration strategies.

What You Need to Succeed:
To excel in this role, you should have:

• Experience working with Cloud platforms, including design, deployment, configuration, or optimisation
• Familiarity with IaaS and PaaS solutions
• Experience in IaC development (Terraform, Ansible, AWS CDK, Azure ARM, Kubernetes)
• Scripting skills with Python and Shell Scripting
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Awareness of IT skills, including backups, storage, systems administration, data protection, and information security
• Enthusiasm for learning and working within a team environment
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail
• An active BASELINE security clearance (higher clearances are highly desirable)
