Software Engineer

My client is the worlds leading internet exchange operator. Their technology links numerous network operators, Internet service providers, content provide.

Position - Software Engineer / SRE

Salary - €75k / €85k

Location - 100% Remote

Responsibilities

- Developing software mostly in Python but also if you think Go, PHP or any other language fits best, you can choose.

- Working on feature enhancements, architectural upgrades whilst also reacting to any priority business needs when they come in.

- Must be calm and willing to jump from tasks to priority businesses needs seamlessly.

- The position is around 80% coding and 20% SRE, there is a separate cloud team that handles Docker / Kubernetes ect so you will be working "with it" not so much "on it"

Essential Skills

Python and practical knowledge in modelling of databases (SQL, ORM) and APIs (REST)

Love and live clean code and object oriented design, practical understanding of good practices like SOLID, DRY and KISS

Desired

Experience with event-driven / message-driven architectures

Agile working experience and interest in DevOps approaches (CI/CD, Monitoring/Alarming), practical knowledge Linux/Docker/Kubernetes

nice to have

Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible

Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, etc.)
