Application Security Engineer (relocation to Belgium)

We are looking for a skilled Application Security Engineer who is willing to relocate to join our team in Belgium.

You will leverage your expertise to enhance the security of applications and support the organization in adopting secure development practices (SecDevOps).

Your Responsibilities

Major Tasks:

• Manage Jira requests for configuring application security tools for various development squads.
• Conduct code reviews on internally developed applications using SAST tools to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Proactively support development squads by:
• Preparing and delivering training sessions on secure coding practices and common mistakes.
• Coaching squads on how to effectively use application security tools.
• Oversee the technical infrastructure for automatic code reviews and open-source library evaluations by:
• Maintaining policies (security, compliance, etc.).
• Reporting on evaluation results and monitoring execution.
• Keeping development guidelines up-to-date.
• Reviewing vulnerabilities and suggesting mitigations.

Minor Tasks:

• Manage and report security issues, ensuring relevant teams address them promptly.
• Assist developers with risk mitigation and solutions to application security incidents.
• Provide input into the development of new security measures (e.g., detection mechanisms).

Your Profile

Mandatory Skills:

• Up-to-date knowledge of software development technologies, including tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Maven, and Docker.
• Strong interest and expertise in application security.
• Fundamental understanding of penetration testing and hands-on experience in this domain.
• Knowledge of network security concepts and practices.
• Familiarity with the challenges of mobile application development and testing.
• At least 2 years of experience in application security.

Preferred Skills:

• Hands-on experience with secure development practices and tools.
• Knowledge of policy management for development tools and secure tool integration.
• Proficiency in assisting teams with incident management and issue resolution related to security.
