Job Description

We are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join our growing team in our Istanbul office. This role is responsible for understanding information security, technology architecture, and business security. The person in this position will design, oversee, and implement IT security-related activities within the organization, acting as a bridge between employees—who are often the end-users of security processes—and the technical aspects of IT security. Additionally, they will collaborate with teams to develop and maintain robust security systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Input into the design and implementation of standards, policies, guidelines, and appropriate architectural principles to ensure the firm’s cyber security goals continue to be met
• Provide risk-based direction in conjunction with IT Services for future system enhancements in line with the overall company strategy
• Recognize potential opportunities for enhancing the company’s security, ensuring minimal impact to practitioners
• Provide subject matter expertise to support business relationship management functions
• Develop and implement security-related procedures required for day-to-day activities
• Identify security requirements for new applications and other software products
• Advise management on security issues, including legislation and the adoption of new security technologies
• Manage implementation of security and control techniques as per business requirements and review periodically for ongoing validity
• Facilitate, guide, or support for high severity security incidents
• Apply and maintain specific security controls as required by organizational policy and local risk assessments to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of business information systems and to enhance resilience to unauthorized access
• Recognize and act upon when an IT network/system has been attacked internally, by a remote host, or by malicious code, such as virus, worm, Trojan etc., or when a breach of security has occurred
• Contribute to vulnerability assessments
• Provide Incident Response (IR) support when analysis confirms actionable incident
• Provide threat and vulnerability analysis as well as security advisory services
• Review Level 1 analysts ticket queue, review tickets, closure or reassignment as needed
• Create/review/modify documentation as needed, to include any process or procedure and thus ensure it’s up to date and standard
• Participate in evaluating, recommending, implementing, and troubleshooting security solutions and evaluating IT security of the new IT Infrastructure systems
• Work as part of a team to ensure that corporate data and technology platform components are safeguarded from known threats
• Provide recommendations in tuning and optimization of security systems, SOC security process, procedures and policies
• Define, create and maintain SIEM correlation rules, customer build documents, security process and procedures
• Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats including applicable regulatory security requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant area of study with a preference for Information Security, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of IT Security having information Security for handling SIEM/Firewall/IPS/WAF/any other in-scope solutions
• Valid certification for either CISSP/CEH/ECIH/CHFI/any SIEM technical certification/any firewall technical certification/or any other industry-related certificate
• Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities simultaneously
• Security monitoring experience with one or more SIEM
• Strong understanding of networking principles
• Demonstrated skills in digital investigations including: computer forensics, network forensics, malware analysis and memory analysis
• Ability to analyze data, such as logs or packets captures, from various sources within the enterprise and draw conclusions regarding past and future security incidents
• Solid knowledge of IT including multiple operating systems and administration
• Strong understanding of security incident management, malware management and vulnerability management processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Excellent written communications in English
