Engineering Lead

The Engineering Lead at Qashio plays a vital role in driving our technological innovation and advancement. You will lead the development and execution of our technology strategy, ensuring alignment with our business goals and objectives. This is a high-impact role where you will oversee our talented software development team, manage our technology infrastructure, and collaborate closely with product and customer success teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery and coordinate between the product, tech and QA teams.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing agile software development team (React.js, Next.js, React Native, Node.js, Ruby On Rails).
• Oversee the architecture, development, and deployment of scalable and secure technology solutions.
• Spearhead the development and implementation of our technology roadmap, ensuring it aligns with our overall business strategy and the evolving needs of the fintech landscape in Dubai.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment and maintenance.
• Work closely with the product team to define product requirements and ensure seamless execution.
• Collaborate with the Customer Success team to gather user feedback and drive product enhancements.
• Manage and optimize our technology infrastructure (AWS and Google Cloud) to ensure high availability, security, and efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to Agile delivery methodologies and best practices while maximizing the team’s output and velocity.
• Manage and mentor a team of skilled software engineers.
• Provide the solution architecture guidance and ensure the most efficient implementations, specifically around financial services.
• Collaborate with the product team to define and prioritize product roadmaps.
• Manage Qashio's technology infrastructure including servers, networks, and cloud services (AWS and Google Cloud).
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery planning.
• Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and comply with industry regulations.
• Serve as a member of the Incident Report Team (IRT).
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Work closely with other departments (Product, Customer Success, Marketing, etc.) to understand their technology needs and provide effective solutions.
• Foster strong relationships with external technology vendors and service providers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in a senior technology leadership role, preferably within the fintech industry.
• Essential: Strong understanding of financial products, services, and regulatory requirements in the UAE and the wider Middle East region.
• Essential: Extensive experience with Visa and Mastercard APIs.
• Essential: Proven experience in B2B product and technology development.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies, agile practices, and modern technology stacks (React.js, Next.js, React Native, Node.js, Ruby On Rails).
• Experience with SQL/Postgres and infrastructure monitoring is a plus.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
