Your Role And Responsibilities

As a key member of our dynamic team, you will play a vital role in crafting exceptional software experiences. Your responsibilities will encompass the design and implementation of innovative features, fine-tuning and sustaining existing code for optimal performance, and guaranteeing top-notch quality through rigorous testing and debugging. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and you'll be working closely with fellow developers, designers, and product managers to ensure our software aligns seamlessly with user expectations.

The role seeks good levels of personal organisation and the ability to work well within a distributed global team in a fast paced and exciting environment. You will be office based, working with senior software engineers who will help you integrate into the team, the department and wider IBM. You will be joining a development squad following Design Thinking and Agile principles where you are expected to collaboratively develop creative solutions. Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• Software Development Expertise: Strong background in software development with 10+ years of experience, demonstrating expertise in programming languages such as Golang, Python, C C++
• Hands-on Development: Contribute to coding, designing, and implementing features to ensure high-quality platform components for the product.
• Excellent Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated experience in problem-solving, with the ability to tackle complex issues and find effective solutions.
• Collaborative Development: Work closely with development teams to identify potential weak spots, inefficiencies, and issues within software systems, fostering a collaborative approach to software quality. Strong knowledge in manual Software Testing concepts.
• Experience with Operating System Concepts (serialization, concurrency, multi-threading) and Data Structures (arrays, pointers, hash buckets
• Experience with SQL Databases (Db2, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc)
• Must have experience in containers , docker along wiht Kubernetes and Openshift
• Experienced in conceptualization, analysis, architecture, solution design and development of software products and services.
• Ensure compliance and security integrity of the environment and build secure practices. Have a deep understanding of how security impacts each stage of the development pipeline and the final product or service. Identify gaps and embed secure practices into our processes.
• Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing, testing and identifying software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews
• Designed & delivered large complex project on Cloud Infrastructure/on prem infra.
• Design and implement scalable, high-performance cloud-based architectures that meet business requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, promoting best practices and driving technical excellence.
• Ensure architectural consistency and alignment with industry standards and best practices.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance our cloud infrastructure and development processes.
• Leads the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities, provides recommendations based on business relevance, appropriate timing and deployment
• Work with and adopt open source technologies as well as participate in new IBM innovations .
  
  

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

• Python, Go Lang, Terraform and Schematics experience
• Hands on experience on Design, Build and Manage of Storage, Servers, Network, Backup, Monitoring etc.
• Knowledgeable in software engineering including API and microservice development
• Performing technical Cloud architect role.
• Management of large Hybrid Cloud end-to-end deals.
• Hands on expertise of IaaS, SaaS services
• Ability to solution across all hyperscalers – AWS/Azure/Google
• Hands on experience of integration of Infrastructure tools.
• Experience on Automation, Infrastructure cost optimization.
• Works closely with project management to ensure alignment of plans with what is being delivered.
• Excellent Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated excellence in problem-solving, with the ability to tackle complex issues and find effective solutions.
• Collaborative Team Player: Ability to work seamlessly as part of a team, contributing to collective goals and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Degree in Computer Science, , Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of experience with Cloud/Container skills: Familiarity with cloud and container technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, etc.
• 5+ years of experience with Programming Languages: Golang, Python, Unix environments
