We are looking for a Cloud Developer (Azure) for a freelance project in Brussels, Belgium. The position is Full-Time (5 days p/week) and hybrid over an initial duration of 9 Months, plus a high likelihood of extensions.

Contractual Details

Languages: English + French AND/OR Dutch Fluency (with knowledge of the other language)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Native Developer with extensive Azure experience to join our team. In this dual-role position, you will act as both an advisor and a hands-on developer, playing a crucial part in our cloud transformation and modernization initiatives. You will translate project requirements into actionable roadmaps for application teams, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and security while adhering to our architectural and operational standards. You will also mentor and guide teams through their cloud adoption journey, promoting best practices and modern architectures. As a seasoned developer, you will contribute directly to the development, maintenance, and optimization of cloud-native applications on Azure.

Responsibilities:

Advisory:

• Provide guidance and training to application teams on Azure development, DevOps principles, CI/CD methodologies, and terraform.
• Develop standardized templates and documentation to accelerate cloud adoption.
• Promote and enforce best practices for cloud-native development within the organization.

Development:

• Collaborate with architects and project leaders to translate functional and technical requirements into a structured backlog for application teams.
• Design, develop, and implement new features for cloud-native applications on Azure, including integration, testing, and documentation.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and contribute to quality control throughout the development process.
• Identify and resolve bugs and issues in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team.
• Apply standard modules and best practices defined by the Cloud Centre of Excellence, prioritizing efficiency and compliance.
• Work closely with DevOps engineers to integrate applications into CI/CD pipelines, enabling automated testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Maintain and optimize existing applications for operational and financial efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Advisor:

• Proven experience in providing formal or informal guidance and training to development teams.
• Excellent communication skills, both technical and business-oriented.

Developer:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience developing cloud-native applications on Azure using Agile methodologies and CI/CD principles with Azure DevOps.
• Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) certification or an Azure Expert-level certification is required.
• Expertise in .NET (C# 8.0+) and REST API development (ASP.NET Core, Minimal APIs).
• Extensive experience with Terraform and containerization (Docker).
• Deep understanding of modern architectures, including microservices, serverless, SOLID principles, CQRS, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD).
• Proficiency in relevant technologies such as SQL, SignalR, Redis, and Blazor/CSS (Bootstrap, HTML5, Dapr).
• Preferred experience with:
• PDF generation (iTextSharp)
• OpenID Connect
• Integration with WCF SOAP services.
