Cyber Security Engineer

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join a leading organisation and play a key role in securing critical systems. If you have a strong technical background in firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, penetration testing, and risk management, this could be your next career move! This is for an initial 3 month contract with possible extension.

Responsibilities Include

Ensure security service delivery aligns with contractual KPIs and industry best practices.
Identify, measure, and report on security metrics to ensure operational efficiency.
Manage stakeholders, including hospital employees, vendors, and subcontractors.
Lead troubleshooting efforts, security risk assessments, and system optimizations.
Implement and maintain security controls across ICT infrastructure.
Support security governance, compliance, and risk management activities.
Conduct security audits, penetration tests, and vulnerability assessments.
Perform incident response, threat detection, and proactive security monitoring.

Key Experience

Strong knowledge of firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and malware detection.
Experience with security frameworks (e.g., ASD Essential 8, ISO 27001, NIST).
Understanding of patch management, vulnerability mitigation, and risk assessments.
Hands-on experience in security operations, including penetration testing and incident response.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Qualifications

ITIL Foundation Certification.
Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
Security certifications (CCNP Security, CCIE Security, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent).
Experience in healthcare or critical infrastructure security is an advantage.
