About The Role

Our client is seeking a Technical Lead to oversee a team of JavaScript and PHP developers working on cutting-edge market research management systems. The role involves guiding a team that is currently using Angular but has plans to migrate to Vue.js. The backend is built on PHP (Laravel), and the infrastructure is heavily based on AWS managed services (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, RDS) using Serverless Framework, CloudFormation, and Terraform.

This role combines technical leadership and people management, ensuring the team delivers high-quality solutions, maintains system performance, and meets business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of PHP and JavaScript/TypeScript engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.

Define and oversee the technical direction of the team.

Manage incoming development requests, maintenance schedules, and technical debt.

Drive improvements in code quality, system architecture, and security.

Work closely with engineering, testing, and UX teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Skills And Experience

We are looking for a passionate and skilled leader with:

Strong programming expertise in PHP (Laravel) and JavaScript/TypeScript (Angular/Vue.js).

Excellent knowledge of AWS & Serverless technologies (Lambda, SQS, API Gateway, etc.).

Strong experience with system architecture and design.

Ability to define technical specifications based on customer requirements.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Experience optimising SQL queries for large data sets.

Preferred (but Not Essential) Experience

Previous experience leading a development team and mentoring colleagues.

Experience managing diverse staff and fostering professional growth.

Exposure to privacy-centric applications.

Proven ability to steer technical projects and strategy.
