Network Engineer - Fintech

As a Network Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our platform’s network infrastructure meets the evolving needs of our customers and aligns with Ebury’s business objectives. You will collaborate closely with our platform engineering teams to design, implement, and maintain robust network solutions that support our services’ performance, scalability, and security.

Network Engineer - Fintech

- Collaborate with Platform Engineering to ensure high availability and reliability of our network and platform infrastructure.
- Design and implement new systems and services that comply with our reliability and scalability standards.
- Develop and maintain monitoring protocols, incident management, and troubleshooting procedures for network infrastructure and applications.
- Participate in on-call rotations, responding to high-severity incidents to maintain system availability.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and practices in Networking and Infrastructure.
- Use observability tools to assess system performance and health, implementing necessary improvements.
- Work alongside engineering teams to design a scalable and reliable platform.
- Design and automate processes and tools to enhance efficiency and minimise downtime.
- Advanced knowledge of networking technologies and protocols, and extensive experience building large-scale networking infrastructures.
- In-depth understanding of traditional data center networking, multi-cloud networking architectures, and platform patterns and technologies (e.g., Kubernetes and REST APIs), particularly within GCP or AWS environments and their interconnections.
- Proven ability to systematically identify and resolve root causes of issues; experience collaborating with code owners to prevent recurrence.
- Ability to act as an escalation point for network-related issues and coordinate with relevant parties to resolve them.
- Expertise in network security, firewall technologies, TCP/IP, and routing protocols to collaborate with vendors and technical staff to resolve problems.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and implement network architecture projects, with a focus on automation and efficiency.
- Ability to collaborate with the security team to implement security tools, policies, and procedures, while staying informed about network changes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and a commitment to upholding Ebury's values.
- Occasional travel to Ebury locations may be required.
- Experience in the FinTech industry.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- Experience with DevOps tools and DevSecOps practices to ensure security is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Skilled in Shell Scripting or Python Software Development.
- Knowledge of Spanish.
