The Dispute Resolution Branch (DRB), Department of Justice is seeking expressions of interest for an exceptional A04 temporary Executive Officer to join our team until 4 April 2025 (possibility of extension) and help drive our vision forward!

What Your Day-to-day Looks Like

  • Support the Director with high-quality confidential executive correspondence, administrative and project assistance including travel arrangements and coordination.
  • Support the Business Manager with all corporate, governance and administrative duties necessary for the efficient operation of the office including routine reporting requirements, human resource matters and exercising delegated financial duties as required.
  • Review incoming documents and distribute to the relevant working areas, collate accurate responses on behalf of the Director to basic information requests.
  • Providing high-level secretariat support for meetings and committees, including bookings, preparing agendas, papers and minutes.

The Dispute Resolution Branch

The DRB provides expert dispute resolution services which assist people throughout Queensland to resolve their disputes or train them to resolve disputes themselves.

The four service streams include

  • Civil Dispute Resolution
  • Child Protection Conferencing
  • Adult Restorative Justice Conferencing
  • Training


The branch provides services across the state through six centres and comprises of approximately 40 staff and a casual pool of 100 mediators, who appointed under the Dispute Resolution Centres Act 1990. Most staff are also appointed mediators.

This exciting role is temporary until 4 April 2025 with the possibility of extension.
