The Content Authoring sitting inside of CXP team is the bridge between content creators and Zalando customers. We are now looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team based in Helsinki.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• Build and operate a moderation system to check all content going to Zalando to ensure a safe environment for our users
• Together with your team, you will own your code and decide on the technologies and methods to deliver to help us build a stable tool for moderating content across systems
• Perform code reviews, share knowledge and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Actively participate in team discussions, design decisions and requirements clarifications with stakeholders and product managers.
• You keep learning and share your knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies that will help us innovate faster
  
  
  
  

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• You have solid knowledge of JVM based languages (Scala, Java, Kotlin), as well as NodeJS, willingness and interest in up keeping Scala services, you have knowledge of software patterns and paradigms like continuous integration, test automation and deployment pipelines.
• You have experience in specifying, planning, developing, maintaining and operating microservices using REST API (OpenAPI), GraphQL, Cloud Platforms (AWS, Kubernetes), PostgreSQL, DynamoDB
• Experience or interest in web frontend technologies (React, Vue) as well as GenAI (Claude, OpenAI,...) is a plus.
• High level knowledge or interest in data engineering and familiarity with DAGs, data pipelines, S3, Superset, Databricks, or Airflow is a plus.
• You have good communication and collaboration skills and enjoy working in an international and diverse environment with a positive no-job-is-beneath you attitude as a team player
• You are self-motivated and have a proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
• You have problem-solving skills and ability to apply logical and analytical thinking to complex problems
