We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join our team in Oulu and drive hardware and manufacturing research. In this role, you will work closely with our Hardware and Manufacturing teams to analyze and monitor component data, improve manufacturing processes, and enhance predictive maintenance capabilities. Your insights will help optimize warranty strategies, forecast supply needs, and ensure a seamless customer experience by proactively identifying and addressing potential hardware issues. Note that the role requires time spent onsite at the Oulu office, so you should be willing and able to make the commute to the Oulu office on a regular basis (1-2 days a week).

What You Will Do
- Analyze and monitor manufacturing and hardware component data to detect anomalies and optimize performance.
- Develop predictive maintenance strategies to identify potential hardware failures before they occur.
- Identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities in manufacturing processes to improve efficiency.
- Enhance warranty analytics to help the MX team improve customer experience and optimize hardware issue resolutions.
- Work closely with the Hardware Product Analytics team to develop ring monitoring dashboards and track key performance metrics.
- Establish and execute a data strategy for proactive manufacturing monitoring, exploring techniques like image/video detection for hardware quality control.
- Assist with supply forecasting based on manufacturing throughput and collaborate with Finance and Supply Chain teams on demand forecasting needs.
- Support the hardware testing team by developing tools and analyses to improve hardware validation processes.
- Improve battery status detection models to enhance the customer experience and support MX operations.
- 4+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or data engineering.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and building robust data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Experience with Python for data analysis, modeling, and automation.
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance techniques and/or anomaly detection.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making.
- Experience working in hardware, manufacturing, or related industries is a plus.
- Detail oriented with the ability to juggle multiple projects and work with multiple stakeholders at once.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with international groups and distributed teams.
