Backend Java Engineer

About the Role: Our client, a leading IT consultancy, is seeking a Backend Java Engineer for a 12-month contract in Munich. You will design, develop, and optimize backend services for enterprise projects. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with top-tier engineers in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Java (Java 11/17) and Spring Boot.
• Design scalable RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Optimize system performance and security.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and business analysts.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ensure high-quality documentation and best practices.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Backend Java Engineer in enterprise projects.
• Strong expertise in Java 11+, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
• Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-based deployments.
• Proficiency in databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration.
• Strong understanding of software best practices, TDD, and agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
• Fluent in English; German is a plus.
