Backend Developer - API

Come join our team at Proxxi Technology. We are a startup working with hardware & software that makes the world a safer place. Our first product is for workers who deal with the everyday risks of being around electricity; think contractors, manufacturing, construction and utility workers - people that keep you safe, keep your lights on, and will be there when you need them. Proxxi's technology can detect and alert people to potential electrical dangers before it is too late.

As part of the Proxxi team, you will be responsible for our API, event stream processing and managing our deployments. Your role will involve managing roll-outs and updates to our customers, providing operations and integration support and continuing to evolve the core of our product. This data is critical to organizations to prevent injuries before they occur.

Our infrastructure is built on

• NodeJS and Typescript
• AWS (EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, etc.)
• Kubernetes, Helm and Docker
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform

Requirements

• NodeJS or Javascript/Typescript experience for our API
• Comfortable being part of a startup environment
• Interest in building scalable distributed systems
  
  

Nice to haves

• High volume data processing and aggregation techniques
• Experience providing and supporting enterprise integrations
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery with CircleCI or similar tools
• Experience with platform architecture/design
• Infrastructure instrumentation and monitoring
• Familiarity with AWS
• Event stream processing with Pulsar or something similar
• GDPR best practices
  
  

Compensation

• Compensation includes a flexible vacation/leave policy
• Benefits for individuals and family
• Salary range for this role: $95,000-140,000
• All employees are offered ESOP: 0.05% to 0.5%
• Canadian visa sponsorship possible, if desired
