Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Location: Mississauga – Hybrid – 3 days/week

Term: Long term contract plus extension

Job description:

We are looking for a server-side software engineer, empathetic with the challenges that Data Architecture teams face in delivering software in large, heterogeneous organizations.

Role and Responsibilities:

- Develop and take ownership for delivering components in our Architecture stack which will provide the services and building blocks for other teams to build upon.

- Write code in close collaboration and partnership with line of business and infrastructure teams.

- Be responsible for programming Data Architecture and Governance tools using the most recent technologies, including Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLM)

- Usability and scale are key – we need to reach a lot of people fast; our technology needs to be able to pick up and use – experience in working with a developer user base would be helpful.

- The business teams need to be able to use our tooling and we need to develop avenues in for them to benefit.

- We need to automate away manual checks and attestation, everything that we capture in meta data we want to be able to test or generate from real code to keep things up-to-date and maintainable.

Qualifications:

- Lead the development and management of components in our advanced Architecture stack, providing a foundation for other teams to build upon.

- Collaborate closely with business and infrastructure teams, creating code that bridges technology and business needs.

- Take on the responsibility of programming innovative Data Architecture and Governance tools, using the latest technologies like Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLM).

- Focus on usability and scalability; our technology should be user-friendly and capable of reaching a wide audience quickly. Experience with a developer user base is a plus.

- Develop tools that are beneficial and user-friendly for business teams.

- Aim to automate manual checks and attestation. We aim to test or generate everything captured in metadata from real code, keeping it up-to-date and easy to maintain.
