The Chief Data Center and Cloud Officer (CDCCO) is a senior leadership position reporting directly to the CEO, responsible for defining and executing the strategic vision for the company’s Data Center (DC) and Cloud services. The role combines product innovation, operational excellence, and customer-centricity to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions that align with organizational growth objectives.
This position oversees product management, domain architecture, performance, and operations, driving collaboration with internal teams (e.g., strategy, sales, cybersecurity) and external partners to deliver competitive, scalable, and sustainable DC and Cloud offerings.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning and Vision:
- Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for Data Center and Cloud services to align with the company’s long-term growth objectives.
- Identify emerging trends, technologies, and customer needs to maintain a competitive edge in the GCC and international markets.
- Product Portfolio Management:
- Oversee the lifecycle of DC and Cloud products, from ideation and business case preparation to pricing and go-to-market strategies.
- Establish partnerships with hyperscalers and ensure their offerings complement the organization’s portfolio.
- Profitability and Growth:
- Drive strategies to achieve sustainable growth in the Data Center and Cloud product portfolio's profitability.
- Collaborate with finance and sales teams to develop revenue forecasts, manage budgets, and optimize cost structures.
- Architecture and Solution Leadership:
- Guide the development of innovative, customer-centric DC and Cloud solutions tailored to specific market needs.
- Align solution design and delivery with the organization’s strategic objectives and customer requirements.
- Strategic Alliances and Ecosystem Development:
- Build and maintain relationships with platform and capability partners to expand service offerings.
- Ensure alignment of partner ecosystems with the company’s goals and value propositions.
Operational Responsibilities
Service Delivery Excellence:
- Ensure timely project delivery within defined scope, SLAs, and budgets while identifying opportunities for optimization.
- Implement quality assurance measures and drive initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction.
Operational Management and CoE:
- Oversee 24/7 monitoring of Data Center and Cloud services, ensuring SLA adherence and proactive incident management.
- Lead the establishment of a Center of Excellence (CoE) to drive operational efficiency and innovation.
Incident and Performance Management:
- Ensure timely resolution of incidents within SLA parameters and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develop mechanisms to monitor performance metrics, identifying areas for enhancement in service delivery.
P&L Oversight:
- Manage the profitability and growth of the Data Center and Cloud portfolio.
- Monitor and refine business models to ensure products meet customer value expectations while driving financial performance.
Collaboration and Team Leadership:
- Foster collaboration across internal teams (strategy, sales, development) and external partners to achieve business objectives.
- Mentor and develop talent within the DC and Cloud teams, promoting innovation, accountability, and alignment with organizational goals.
Qualification & Experience
- 12+ years of leadership experience in Data Center and Cloud services, with a strong background in ICT sectors.
- Proven track record in developing and delivering innovative DC and Cloud solutions for diverse markets, including Oman, GCC, and international regions.
- In-depth understanding of data center and cloud technologies, platforms, and hyperscaler ecosystems.
- Demonstrated ability to align technology and product strategies with organizational goals to drive growth and profitability.
- Expertise in managing product lifecycles, developing business cases, and proven experience in developing pricing and go-to-market strategies resulting in increase time to market, profits, market penetration, brand visibility etc
- Strong capability and experience in monitoring, incident management, and optimizing service delivery with improvisation on operational efficiency, cost savings, automation, productivity etc
- Proven skills in managing budgets, forecasting revenue, and driving P&L growth consistently.
- Strong people management skills, with the ability to foster cross-functional teamwork and mentor high-performing teams.
- Strong educational background in business or technology, ideally with advanced qualifications in both technical and business domains.
- Deep understanding of the ICT landscape in Oman and the GCC, with international market exposure being highly advantageous.
