Senior Frontend Engineer (React, Next.js, Typescript)

Contract Duration: 12 Months + extension

Location: Melbourne or Sydney CBD

Hybrid working: 2/3 on-site


The project focuses on developing our clients new web platform, aiming to deliver exceptional customer experiences and accessibility.

The key components of the project include:

Technological Framework:

• Frontend Development: Utilizing Next.js 14 as the primary framework for frontend development. This choice enables efficient server-side rendering and a robust developer experience.
• API Integration: Leveraging gRPC for backend APIs, ensuring efficient communication and data transfer between frontend and backend systems.
• Cloud Integration: Operating within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with familiarity with AWS or Azure being advantageous. The team uses these cloud environments for scalability, data management, and security.

Continuous Deployment and Integration:

• The project employs a continuous deployment pipeline, allowing for rapid and frequent updates to the web platform. This includes automated testing, deployment, and feature flag management to ensure seamless user experiences.

Responsibilities and Impact:

• Engineers are responsible for delivering high-quality features and functionalities to users, leveraging their expertise in React and Next.js.
• Senior engineers play a crucial role in guiding technical decisions, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring adherence to best practices in software engineering, security, and scalability.

Role of Frontend Engineers:

As an engineer within this project, your role encompasses several key responsibilities and qualifications:

• Development Expertise: You will utilize your years of web development experience, with specifically in React or similar frameworks.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of software engineering principles, UI design literacy, and familiarity with frontend unit testing frameworks.
• Cloud Environment: Ability to work within cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure) and experience with continuous integration and deployment practices.
• Collaborative Skills: Engaging with stakeholders, designers, and engineers to build context and ensure project alignment.
