Operations division's task is to execute Finnair's flight operations safely, economically and in a reliable manner. Flight operations entail the pilot resources, flight planning, flight competence optimization, coordination of and compliance to regulations as well as operational maintenance and ground operations. Finnair Technical Operations is responsible for the airworthiness of Finnair fleet. The key objectives of Technical Operations are safety, reliable flight operations and cost-efficient maintenance processes.

Finnair Technical Operations is now looking for a

POWERPLANT ENGINEER, APU & PW100

to manage APU & PW100 maintenance processes together with the Powerplant team. This is an interesting opportunity with diverse responsibilities combining technical and commercial aspects. Powerplant Engineer, APU & PW100 manages on wing and off wing performance of equipment and ensures Finnair and Norra fleet is maintained in airworthy condition. This position gives an opportunity for just about, or recently graduated person to develop their skills and get good understanding on airline powerplant management and engineering in general.

This is a parental leave substitute and a fixed-term contract beginning in the start of May 2025 and lasting until March 2026.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain processes needed to ensure high reliability and cost effectiveness of Finnair and Norra fleet
  • Manage the fleet on- and off-wing plan during the term considering the overall plan for the whole operational lifetime and redelivery conditions
  • Manage shop visits performance and practicalities ensuring spare engine availability
  • Manage engine on-wing maintenance program and shop visit work scoping
  • Manage and monitor Airworthiness Directives (AD) and modifications (SB’s) in area of responsibility

Our Expectations

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in applicable aircraft maintenance duties, or in other relevant technical / industry position
  • Basic knowledge of Part-CAMO, Part-M, and Part-145 regulations is considered an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft maintenance program philosophy and principles
  • Knowledge of Engine Maintenance manuals, practices and methods etc. is considered an advantage
  • Good teamwork skills and ability to learn new
  • Good verbal and written skills in English
  • Applicable technical B.Sc, M.Sc degree or studies at their final stages

Powerplant Engineer, APU & PW100 role is situated in Technical Operations, Engineering and reports to Head of Powerplant Engineering. Our working languages are Finnish and English.
