Senior Rust Engineer

📍 Location: remote from Europe.

By joining Scalac, you’ll be part of our client's project, which is a leading technology company specializing in blockchain. In this role, you'll be a crucial contributor, leveraging your expertise in Rust, backend development, and systems programming to build high-quality, efficient, and reliable software. You'll work closely with teams across different time zones to design, implement, and maintain essential components of the products.

Must-haves In The Technology Stack

• At least 3 years of experience with the Rust programming language in production environments.
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and network development.
• Expert-level understanding of Rust’s ownership model, borrowing mechanics, lifetimes, and concurrency paradigms.
• Extensive experience working with Git and version control systems.
• Understanding of HTTP protocols, accessibility, and security compliance.
• Experience in developing web services and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with concurrent programming and multithreading.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication skills, so you can communicate well with the technical team, and our clients.
• Advanced level English, as you'll be working with international teams.
• A proactive approach, growth mindset, problem-solving skills, and being a real team player.
• Independence in your tasks and decisions, while keeping the rest of the team in mind.

• Technical talk with our developer (about an hour).
• Call with the client (about 30 min.)
