PHP Web Developer (Laravel, Slim Framework, MariaDB, MVC)

Location: Preston, Lancashire (hybrid role)

Absolutely no relocation - understand this before you apply

We’re looking for a talented PHP Web Developer to join an innovative digital team, working on cutting-edge in-house software solutions and bespoke web applications. Based in Preston, Lancashire, the role will be hybrid-based, a few days per week to begin with as you settle into the role and company; and then it'll be 1-2 days per fortnight after that

🚀 What You’ll Be Doing:

• Develop and enhance web applications using PHP (up to 8.2), MySQL/MariaDB, and MVC frameworks

• Collaborate with project managers and clients to build impactful digital solutions

• Build and integrate REST APIs, ensuring scalability and security

• Work with HTML5, SCSS, JavaScript (including jQuery & Bootstrap)

• Maintain best coding practices – SOLID principles, Git version control

🎯 What We’re Looking For:

• 2-3+ years of PHP development full stack experience

• Proficiency in modern PHP frameworks, OOP, and database management

• Strong front-end skills (HTML5, SCSS, JavaScript)

• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate technical concepts clearly

• Understanding of GDPR, security best practices, and data protection

💡 Bonus Points For:

• Experience with Slim Framework, React/Vue.js, or mobile app development

• Knowledge of server admin, ORMs (Eloquent), or Twig templating

📍 Location: Candidates must be based in Lancashire, Manchester, Greater Manchester, or Merseyside and able to commute to the Preston office weekly. NO relocation / NO sponsorship
