Senior Engineer - CAD 3D Administrator

Overview

The Senior Engineer - CAD 3D Administrator will be responsible for administering and managing CAD 3D systems, particularly Smart 3D (S3D), for Offshore Oil & Gas Fixed Platform projects for Qatar Energy.

This role involves system customization, providing user support, and integrating CAD systems with other engineering software to ensure efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, manage, and support Smart 3D (S3D) software for offshore oil and gas fixed platform projects.
Customize and configure the S3D system to meet project-specific requirements.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for S3D users, ensuring system efficiency and addressing any software-related issues.
Develop and implement CAD standards, ensuring consistency and quality across all project deliverables.
Integrate S3D with other engineering tools, such as SmartPlant P&ID (SPP&ID) and SmartPlant Foundation (SPF), to facilitate data exchange and streamline workflows.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure accurate 3D modeling and documentation of project layouts, piping, and equipment.
Monitor and maintain the performance and integrity of the S3D system, ensuring it is up-to-date and optimized for project needs.
Provide training and guidance to project teams on the effective use of S3D and associated software tools.
Support project teams in design reviews, ensuring that 3D models are accurate and align with client and project requirements.

Education

Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Civil, or relevant discipline).

Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills

Proficiency in Smart 3D Software (S3D) is essential.
Knowledge of Navisworks and experience with VB (.NET) programming is .
Experience with SPP&ID and SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) will be an added advantage.

Experience

Minimum of 12 years of experience in Smart 3D (S3D) administration, customization, and user support.

Technical Knowledge

Proven working experience with oil and gas engineering companies is mandatory.
Strong expertise in the administration, customization, and integration of Smart 3D (S3D), with a minimum of 12 years in this role.
