SmartStream Technologies is looking for an experienced System / Network Engineer to join our close nit but global IT team. This role will be based at our Vienna office and will give you an opportunity to work in a FinTech company with operations across the globe.

The candidate should view themselves as an all-rounder as this is a wide ranging and varied role where you will be working on various systems and technologies. The successful candidate should be able to work independently as well as part of a wider global IT team reporting to the Global Head of IT based in Bristol and providing general IT support alongside junior members of the team.

This is a senior position and so will expect the successful candidate to have 5-10 year’s experience in the field. Key duties & responsibilities will include:

• Day to day management of the Global corporate Network including Installation / Upgrade of hardware and software components, analysis and troubleshooting.
• An interest in the modernisation of network infrastructure and the transition to Cloud based networking solutions such as SASE and SD Wan technology.
• Implementation, administration, documentation and operation of network / server solutions.
• Helping to administrator the internal Production and Development infrastructure.
• Interest in cloud technology and the move from on-prem infra/networking, to the IAAS/PAAS
• Support of remote locations where necessary.
• A willingness to succeed in a wider ranging role where every day is a differ challenge.
• There may be the requirement for some infrequent business travel.

Key skills & experience:

• Network Administration: Cisco Ecosystem including Firewalls - FTD/ASA – Configuration, installation, Cloud FMC, Remote Access VPN, Site to Site VPNs. Cisco Switch configuration, VLANs, Routing, BGP, Subnetting
• Cisco Wifi solutions - Meraki
• Linux System Administration / Shell Scripting etcFluent in written and spoken German and English.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in support of both technical and non-technical users.
• A strong commitment to providing first class customer service.
• The ability to work under pressure and use your own initiative.
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff.
• Experience in a corporate IT environment and the skills set out above.

Desirable skills & qualification:

• Experience in SASE, secure Edge Networking. Cisco/Zscaler/Cato a plus
• Layer 2 and 3 networking, management of network connections
• Experience of Cloud/AWS/Azure based Networking, Transit Gateways, Route Tables, VPCs etc
• Atlassian Ecosystem incl Bitbucket and Jira
• Netapp Storage FAS or similar
• Server Hardware – HPE
• Basic experience of Devops, Pipeline builds, Jenkins, Nexus
• AWS Cloud Practitioner, Solution Architect a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Applications.
• A degree in a relevant field would be advantageous but is not essential
