Quality Assurance Analyst
Role: QA Analyst
Contract: 6 months
Location: Dublin (Remote)
Overall Purpose:
As a Quality Assurance Analyst, you will be integral in ensuring the quality of applications built on .NET technologies and hosted on cloud platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify defects, develop and execute test plans, and implement process improvements, ensuring the application meets required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Planning: Collaborate with Business Analysts (BAs) to plan and document test cases, using a primary tool for tracking and managing test activities, while coordinating with clients to review test plans for functional changes.
- Defect Identification and Reporting: Identify and report defects to the development team using work tracking tools (e.g., Bugs, Tasks).
- Test Case Execution: Execute both manual and automated tests to verify that the application meets the required quality standards.
- Integration Testing: Work with other teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud-based services with the application.
- Test Environment Management: Assist in ensuring that test environments are properly set up, configured, and maintained for both manual and automated testing.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Agile team members and other stakeholders, including client SMEs, to understand requirements and provide feedback on application quality.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of test cases, results, and defects.
- Communication: Regularly communicate testing status, defects, and issues to stakeholders through meetings and reports.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections and quality tests, including security and performance testing.
- Identify and resolve workflow and production issues.
- Address and discuss issues and proposed solutions with Team Leads promptly.
- Make recommendations for process improvements.
- Create training materials and operating manuals.
Required Expertise:
- 3+ years of experience in QA testing, ideally within regulated environments or industries.
- Experience working on large-scale data-driven projects.
- Strong understanding of regulated industries and their specific testing requirements.
- Experience testing applications in domains like trading platforms, payment systems, or banking software.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of .NET technologies and test management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with integration testing tools and methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment, including participation in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
- Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium).
- Experience with data warehousing is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud-based services (e.g., AWS) is a plus.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Java, or Python would be advantageous.
