Help us build the AI that will transforms Regulatory Intelligence
At Be Informed, we are redefining regulatory compliance—turning it from a manual, complex burden into an automated, intelligent process. The challenge isn’t just understanding legal text, but transforming it into structured, machine-consumable interpretations that enable automation and scalable compliance.
Join us to work at the forefront of AI-driven regulatory transformation and help develop our flagship product the Regulatory Workbench. The Regulatory Workbench is an advanced tool designed to assist legal analysts in validating, refining, and managing regulatory interpretations. It integrates AI-driven automation with human expertise, ensuring that regulatory texts are transformed into structured, machine-readable interpretations while maintaining full traceability and legal defensibility.
Role Overview
As an AI Engineer for the Regulatory Workbench you will be responsible for designing and implementing a modular AI framework consisting of independent services that collaborate to support regulatory structuring, modeling, interpretation, classification, automation, exploration and compliance insights. Reporting to the Solution Architect, you will build and optimize AI-driven services that seamlessly integrate into the Workbench platform. Your work will enable scalable AI solutions, allowing the platform to efficiently process, interpret, and visualize complex regulations
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop AI pipelines for structuring regulatory texts.
- Natural Language Processing (NLP), classification and text generation. Utilize and develop AI models such as those based on Transformer architectures (e.g., BERT, GPT, Llama, and fine-tuned models from Hugging Face Transformers), for precise entity extraction, text classification and regulatory modeling and interpretation. Ensure AI-generated interpretations are explainable, accurate, and compliant with industry standards.
- Information and knowledge exploration. Implement embedding- and graph-based search and retrieval models to find related concepts, regulations or for example match regulations to business designs.
- Predictive analytics on case data. Matching and extracting insights from previous cases.
- AI Services & Framework Development. Build an AI framework consisting of independent AI services that provide standardized interfaces and messaging to collaborate seamlessly with the Workbench and other tools. Design services to be deployed, scaled, and improved independently while collaborating with other platform components.
- Collaboration with Solution Architecture & Engineering Teams. Work closely with the Solution Architect to ensure AI services align with platform requirements. Collaborate with backend and front-end teams to integrate AI capabilities into Workbench workflows. Provide guidance on scalability, security, and API integration best practices for AI.
Required Qualifications:
Technical Skills & Expertise
- Strong experience in AI development, with a focus on NLP, text classification, and regulatory automation.
- Experience with structured outputs and function calling from AI models.
- Experience with vector and graph databases for semantic search and (Graph)RAG.
- Experience with building AI-driven services with technologies like FastAPI
- Proficiency in Python and AI frameworks for for instance chaining and multi-agent development.
- Familiarity with cloud-based AI deployment (AWS, Azure, GCP), Docker and Kubernetes.
Soft Skills & Collaboration
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on explainable and trustworthy AI.
- Effective collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Ability to translate regulatory needs into AI solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with RegTech or compliance AI applications is a plus.
- Prior work on legal AI models, knowledge graphs or automated regulatory compliance.
- Hands-on experience with ontology-based AI reasoning models
